“The Shape of Things to Come” exhibition was built as a platform for architects, designers, and artists based in the Middle East. It encouraged to explore, to speculate, to document — and to propose solutions in these crisis times. It aimed to show how an extremely diverse and cosmopolitan community deals with universal issues without losing sight of its local context.

The title of the exhibition refers to a science-fiction book by H.G Wells, published in 1933, that imagined the future of the planet as it confronted a global plague, unrest and economic hardship.
