Located in a heritage building under a dramatic undulating roof, the project is organised over an irregular footprint. While the original brief called for a set of open workspaces, private offices, workshop areas and a boardroom, the project later grew more than three-fold to accommodate the increase in the customer’s staff. The final design included several additional offices and meeting areas, a library, two prayer rooms and a large light-flooded exhibition space.

The project focused on two large pavilions that frame the sea and mangrove view, serving as an extension of a small existing beachfront family villa. The West pavilion houses new bedrooms, separated from the generous living and dining spaces in the East pavilion. To tie the old and the new, we created a dramatic arrival gate, redesigned the original villa and added several functional areas. All those elements were connected by natural desert landscaping, using plants sourced in the region.

The creative process behind the concept was driven by the intense nature of the Formula 1 race, the traces of rubber worn by friction, metal forged by heat, the textures of the tire threads and the roughness of the track’s surface. The space was created for the most important guests of the event – visiting dignitaries and VVIPs.

Our new installation is a part of the UAE Designer Exhibition.
The concept was born from research into traditional Sadu patterns, developed by Arabian nomads. Sadu weaving, often a very simple juxtaposition of positive and negative elements, uses compositional and semantic conventions that govern the pattern-making, yet leave some room for the weaver’s imagination.

Located on the Dubai Creek, this new community is designed around the idea of active lifestyle and wellness. The boundary between the lobby and the surrounding landscape is imperceivable. A minimalist palette combined with a focus on high-quality materials bring the sense of harmony and calm. The Studio designed all the interiors of the project.

“The Shape of Things to Come” exhibition was built as a platform for architects, designers, and artists based in the Middle East. It encouraged to explore, to speculate, to document — and to propose solutions in these crisis times. It aimed to show how an extremely diverse and cosmopolitan community deals with universal issues without losing sight of its local context.
